MOST IMPORTANT:
The Boys & Girls Club of Stamford have a number of volunteer opportunities/needs that we are asking our members of the Stamford Co-Ed Soccer League to reach out and give back to the community. Here are a list of roles/positions that they are looking to fill immediately!: (Bilingual - Spanish, Creole - a plus!!!)
1. Mentoring/Tutoring for Teens (6:00pm-7:00pm, M-T)
- Reading/writing
- Book discussions
- Reading with members individually or in groups
- Journalism
- Assisting with homework
2. Learning Center (6:00pm-7:00pm, M-T)
- Computer Lab & Software Training
- Health & Life Skills
- SMARTMoves classes
3. Sports & Coaching (Saturday 10am to 4pm or after school 3:00pm-6:00pm, M-F)
- Coaches, Wednesday evenings (6:00pm-8:pm for 14-18 year old Basketball League)
- Scorekeepers for basketball games (6:00pm-8:00pm , M-W)
- Coaches for Baseball teams, ages 7-9 and 10-12
- Tennis instructors (4:00pm-6:00pm, M-Th)
- Game room supervision - pool, ping-pong, foosball, bumper pool and various board games (6:00pm-8:00pm, M-F)
As you can see, most of the activities take place between the hours of 3:00pm-6:00pm (or later), M-F. Even 1 day a week is helping them a TON! For more information, or to join up, please contact Anita at 203-253-5451.
